Why does Square Enix not want to work with Utada Hikaru and make new KH music? They keep using Simple and Clean for every opening theme/commercial they make. I know they can contact her so what's the issue here? Re: Coded should've had a different opening.

Actually, I think Utada said she wasn't going to be doing anymore music/openings for KH. So that is why, I believe, we haven't seen a new opening. We do need one though, Even if it's made by someone else. Having the same one over and over doesn't really work. Especially when the games differ in so many ways really now. It'd be nice to have an opening that fits each game perfectly.

I remember when you and I talked about this before. It sucks for Utada not doing more music for the games. I do really like Hikari/Simple and Clean and Passion/Sanctuary. However, I would really like more songs instead of the same ones over and over. I don't want other people to just find that it gets old and lose a bit of interest, either.
It sounds like a lot of work, especially at this point, but I would like if a song would be made for each individual title. (I say title since I don't think things like Final Mixes need a different song from their original games.) I can't imagine how nice it would be to have a different opening theme for Birth by Sleep, Chain of Memories, etc. I think that it would in a way just add something to each game since the games do indeed differ. I don't know. X:

One thing I have to say, though: I don't really want someone else to make the songs. :/ I guess maybe I'm just used to Utada, but...
I guess it depends. Can they give off the same feel that she has? Can they match and blend perfectly with what she has given us? Would it be just one other person, or would it be multiple..? If there were different artists from the beginning, I wouldn't be bothered at all. But having her for two games and the music last for every game since then? It seems like a hard adjustment for me.

Eventually, they will have to do something. Once Kingdom Hearts moves on to its next saga, I don't see carrying the music over at all.

For now, I wish Utada would just come back and make more songs. ;~;

I love simple and clean. To me it just works with All of the kingdom heart games. I remember when i first played the game and was like omgwtf song was that opening, then i spent the next hour looking online for the song and played it over and over again.

Hikari/Simple and Clean is really nice. Especially with how the opening videos have been done, the song all the more tends to work with each of the games. Which is really good. It would bother me to sit there and watch and listen to an opening if it just really did not fit.

I'll ask something here:
Is Passion/Sanctuary ever really used as an opening? I don't think that I've heard it much in comparison to Hikari/Simple and Clean. Kingdom Hearts II and 358/2 Days are the only games that I know it to be an opening for.

To list ones that I know I'm really fond of, at least:
This is Halloween, Dearly Beloved (pretty much every version), "Another Side, Another Story," Organization XIII, Xion's themes, Sacred Moon, Riku's themes, Friends in My Heart, March Caprice for Piano and Orchestra, Kairi's themes, Ventus's Theme, Roxas's theme, Traverse Town, What Lies Beneath, Waltz of the Diamond, A Very Small Dream, Neverland Sky, Hollow Bastion (KH1 version), The Home of Dragons, Fields of Honor, Scherzo di notte (KH1 version), Monochrome Dreams, Tension Rising, Struggle Away - Fight for my Friends, Merlin's House, The Underworld, Darkness of the Unknown, Destiny Islands (KH1 version), Deep Drive (esp. 358/2 Days version), The World That Never Was, Dance to the Death, Rowdy Rumble, A Day in Agrabah, Beyond the Door, The Other Promise, Mickey Mouse Club March, Space Paranoids, Byte Bashing.

That's quite a large list you have there my dear.

Another side, Another story is a really nice one to me. Along with Dearly Beloved. I figured you'd list This is Halloween first honestly. Isn't there a difference between the first and second games with the song though? I can't remember off hand honestly. I need to go back and listen to more then just world and individual themes for people though, So I can see what my favorite of all the soundtracks are.

It's hard to make that list any shorter. >.<;

I had to list This is Halloween first, if only for you. :3 There is indeed a difference between the song on the first and second games. I tend to like the version from KH1 the most. I think that it slightly differs between each game that it's in, actually. A few of the songs that are used in more than one game have slight differences, I believe. .-.

Sadly, I can only use YouTube to listen to most of the KH music. |: It can be hard listen to everything without needing to do a fair bit of searching. That is pretty frustrating to me, so I'd rather just wait until I have the complete soundtracks on my computer, make a playlist, and listen to them all that way. Some soundtracks I'll have to still wait to listen to. I like to play the games before I listen to their music for some reason. Re:CoM and Re:Coded are two games that I haven't played and don't even own. Hopefully I can buy them soon. >.-

I like the battle music a little bit more than music from cutscenes. Road to a Hero, Rowdy Rumble, Bustin' Up on the Beach, Scythe of Petals, Pirate's Gigue and Monstrous Monstro are songs I listen to mostly along with Neverland Sky.

I'm also a fan of the music used for the Organization. Scythe of Petals, Graceful Assassin and The 13th Struggle are my favorites out of the bunch.
