It's probably the guy's fault. I doubt Sony or Square-Enix had something to do with that.

Anyone still playing this? I've just started advancing the story again and heading towards Oerba.

Also, have anyone seen the trailer for Final Fantasy XIII-2?

I hope it will be good, to even think about how just two years went into a high brow final fantasy game during this time just startles me. The engine is made, but the story, world, gameplay, music, and characters? So quick...

Depends on what role you want them to be in.

Let's try again...

If I max every weapon, which ones should get priority?

You don't want to max every weapon.

Personally I used:

Hauteclaire (711/711)
Rigels (1006/1014)
Power Circle (925/202)
Hawkeye (202/917)
Belladonna Wand (403/807)
Taming Pole (921/921)

That being said, I think that Dragoon Lance could be a good option for Fang as well, but I never complained about the Taming Pole.

However, I believe those are the ultimate weapons I made in my game when I acquired the achievement.

I was considering Lionheart instead of Hauteclaire. Does the difference in stats make up for staggerlock?

From what I remember you get Lionheart really really late in the game. I know that Durandal is 410/410 and Ultima Weapon is only 213/213 and Lionheart's Omega Weapon is a mere 508/508.

Quick Stagger + Random Instant Stagger is nice without a doubt, especially if you have a Fang Commando backing that up.

I personally prefer the Hauteclaire, but either of them seem like they'd be good. Different tactics for either one.

Again, I just said which ones I used. I dunno if they'd be considered the best for each character. I never regretted my Light's weapon, and she's kind of a beast with it. I think mine has something insane like 2000+ in both her strength and magic, which you can't really go wrong with. Not sure how much 200 less points will do, but maybe it's worth it for the insta-stagger. I just think you can toss on accessories to give insta-stagger if you really wanted it. It's been a long long time since I've played, so I'm probably not an expert on it.

So I (finally?)finished the main game, and I didn't really care for the ending.

So I'm on a rage on getting all the trophies. Everything has fallen to me except Treasure hunter and Master's seal. This sucks as I've beaten EVERYTHING, I had never upgraded a weapon, AND my characters have forever to go to finish their crystal development. I must say I do love poison and death, they are very helpful for the underdeveloped player. Also Cold blood and random chain. And Army of One. Highwind too. And Hecatoncheir, so many arms.

I find it hard to imagine you beating one of dem Long Gui's with nothing but the most basic of weaponry. They're not difficult so to say, but they do require pretty well developed characters.

Weapon upgrading is easy, and you only need one ultimate weapon per character which makes it a joke, really. Accessories are much more time consuming. Have fun~

Master's Seal will come from getting Treasure Hunter. Myself, I have those two achievements back to back.

I was so proud of my battle plan for the Long Gui I will share.

Vanille | Sazh | Fang
Sab - Syn - Syn
Rav - Rav - Rav
Sab - Com - Com
Com - Com - Com
Sab - Rav - Rav

Vanille gets Belladona Wand, Whistlewind Scarf, Sprint Shoes, Genji Glove and something else (she got a new accessory slot :O) Sazh and Fang get stuff for random instant chain and someone gets the growth egg.

Start of battle, summon Hecatoncheir, Long Gui falls down. Bring the poison and imperil, poison the much more important, and a couple easy debuffs like deprotect. When it's gestalt time, spam the 1 cost cannon right before it depletes so the poison does its job. When its over keep spamming poison and imperil as the others bring the buffs (My Fang only knew 3 buffs at the time). Switch to ravengers, stagger it. Switch to Sab - Com - Com. Use death, switching to Com - Com - Com for better damage, then switch back to Sab - Com - Com if its at 999% or to Sab - Rav - Rav if its not. Repeat, it should die before or right after it gets up.

I was so proud to craft this up. Was does the Com - Com - Com switch make death do more damage? I never understood why.

COM/COM/COM gives you an offensive boost like SEN/SEN/SEN gives you a defense boost, so your damage would be increased. Magical too, obviously, because COM get Ruin and Ruinga.

The more you know.

Hey, I'm having problems taking down Shao Lon Gui's efficiently. My plan for them is extremely inefficient as I come so close but then I get hammered by ultima and bay and quake and crying and depression. Any ideas? I like to get some dark matter.

leveling up + better weapons I would imagine. I haven't played in a very long time now so I can't recall any strategies efficiently. Pretty sure I used a lot of debuffs and highwinds to take them down. They aren't so bad as you get closer to completing the crystarium.
