Final Fantasy X HD Remaster

Big news indeed. I am personally very excited for this. I'm hoping the release date is relatively soon.

I seriously thought it said "You mean it's not VIII?!" v-v It's really been too long.

Not sure how the cinematics can be improved as they look good for PS3 already, but I want to see how they do with the gameplay graphics.

Also, I see what they did thar with '10th anniversary' and 'FFX' ...yeah. Square so silly.

I'm sorry but I really don't see the point of this. X isn't that old so it's not going to really have that nostalgia feel to it and I don't see why I would bother buying the game for another system when the one for my ps2 still works perfectly fine. It'll be the same story and the same battle system that I can still perfectly recall . I mean if they add a few new things like new scenes or an extra summon or two AND make the NA edition have the dark aeons/ penance battles like the international edition had then MAYBE I'd consider it but to buy it again just to have it on a more updated system? Really don't think I'm gonna do that. Time will tell though I guess.

In seriousness, this isn't a bad thing, and X sold really well initially. Give us the International Sphere Grid + Dark Aeons and I will purchase this without a second thought. X was a great game and it's much easier to turn into an HD product than Final Fantasy 1->9. If you notice all the HD collections going on there aren't too many from PS1 era. Dunno why people are shocked by this. They need to make EVERYTHING from scratch for FF7. That's a lot of time/money/effort versus much less for X. Hell, X HD's sales may help to fund their efforts for FFVII HD. Though I'd still want a VII/VIII/IX HD collection instead of just VII.

As much as I'd rather see, as Val said, a VII/IX (screw VIII we don't need that carp) HD collection released instead of X, I understand why they've done it this way. Plus, we just have to be patient. The Compilation FFVII is clearly leading up to something big, which will more than likely be an HD FFVII on the PS3 (and Vita, I guess...). I don't see them doing the same for IX, honestly, since IX is the black sheep of the PS1 era Final Fantasy games.

But yeah, this is exciting news for me, at least, because, so long as all of the international stuff is packed in (and I see no reason at all why it wouldn't be) I would love to get my hands on a copy so I can actually get in a full play of FFX. (I dislike playing the PS2 when we have a PS3 just sitting there. It feels wrong.)

I know it's going on ten years but still when you look at how many older titles square has in their repertoire (not just in the FF series) it just doesn't seem all that old in comparison. Like I said if they do put in the international edition and a few side extras (because there should be at least one newish thing added to the game) then maybe I can see it being worth the pick up.

PS1 games would have to be completely remade, everything. It's basically making a whole new game from scratch. Who knows, maybe if X sells really well that would be just the motivation Square needs to jump onto a VII remake.

I never really said I wanted ps1 games remade just that out of all the series Square has they are remaking a game that is still playable on a system most people still own and still can hold it's own today in terms of graphics without the need of HD. Instead of this slew of nostalgia remakes I'd rather see something new come out instead of just reselling a game I already own for 40-60 bucks to try and make more money off it because its HD. Personally I'm tired of all the "7 needs a remake soooo bad" I just don't understand the hype about 7 I played it I beat it I moved on. For some reason 7 inspires more spin offs than law and order and CSI put together

It's not a remake but just a "we added hd and trophies and other cool stuff" then expect x-2 as part of the package. Too bad FFXI will never be played by the fans of FF.

This makes me cry tears of joy. I've always loved FF X. Having it be portable is so awesome. Makes gettin a Vita so much more worth it.

I am hoping they give us the international version with the Dark Aeons and what not. Even add in a few things. I can't wait to be able to have this in the palms of my hands ;-;

Anyway, we finally are nearing the release of this HD Remake. And I must say, the changes they've done are pretty astounding.



Just look at the difference from one to another. It's pretty surreal.

Holy shit, that's a BIG difference, lols! O_O I'm still set on getting this, especially since I didn't get far at all in X.Got to that giant monster boss in the mushroom landscape(forgot the name).I had borrowed it from a friend and by the time I got to that boss, I had to give it back.Who else here still plans on getting it?
