As mentioned before in the MMOZAS thread: http://www.knightly-...hread.php?t=660

Dead Frontier is an open-beta zombie apocalypse survival mmo, currently in 3D with non-adjustable camera (automatically goes to birds-eye view for walls at the bottom of the screen though)~

(30 minutes later)

Ehh, okay. Anyway, in this environment you are given a gun and left to run out to the city of Fairview to fend for yourself and 3000+ other people in the four outposts - the last remains of civilization in the city - against a horde of zombies of many kinds. A large community has spawned a strong economy (for a zombie apocalypse)!. Experienced players hang out in the forums and help the economy get to where it's not insane to the point where everyone's broke - if natural economics biology hasn't already taken care of it.

As you level up you can branch your proficiency of weapons to six categories: melee, pistols, rifles, shotguns, machineguns, explosives. Each have their uses. You can also have armour which require varying levels of strength to equip.

As well as equipment, there are points to allocate for statuses: strength, endurance, agility, accuracy, critical hit, and reloading. An explanation of these can be found here: http://deadfrontier....tats_and_Levels

You can read more of what I know about it here: http://www.knightly-...794&postcount=8 (cross out the part about missions, they're different now)

Now, for the original purpose of this thread~

The exacting science of allocating stat points and weapon proficiencies to exterminate as many zombies as efficiently as possible so you can level up faster, yo.

The way that you use your points depends crucially on what weapons you want to use and what armour. The different weapons have their own styles of usage and the way you put your stat points in the different stats can help that style be even more useful. I call these jelling of stats and proficiencies "combos".

Lots of guides have been created in the DF forum and featured in the wiki already. They focus on a combination of weapons and the corresponding styles. Here's the wiki guide for a guideline: http://http://deadfr...ter_Build_Guide

Eh, gonna add my tips and hits later

But whoever is stupid and industrious is a menace and must be removed immediately!”

._. Well if I wanna go something like a rogue in my stats is that possible, and if so is it a good idea?

._. Well if I wanna go something like a rogue in my stats is that possible, and if so is it a good idea?

Yes it is possible. Going to the route of high agility so you run faster, light armour that doesn't need strength (mesh armour) so you can put the points in other statuses, high reloading so you get more bullets up for shooting before a zombie even gets a foot closer, and mainly melee and quiet weapons (pistols, rifles, submachine guns) would be the exact equivalent of the rogue. Here's an example layout of what would happen should you decide to go here:

Weapons would be a melee, rifle, and a submachine gun for when you're at level 50. The rifle is taken up over the pistol because it requires less Accuracy to fire more accurately so you can put more points into Agility and Critical hit so you can move faster like a rogue should and deliver a punch of damage at earlier levels.

Armour, as mentioned earlier, would be a mesh armour - the type of armour that requires 0 Strength points. There are advantages and disadvantages to using this kind of armour.

---

Advantages:

  • More points to spend on statuses that deal with actual killing of zombies, such as critical hit, accuracy, reloading, as well as agility for moving around zombies

Disadvantages:

  • Mesh armours have less durability and percentage of damage taking ability compared to armours that require more strength. For example, the best (normal) mesh armour, the Exterminator Mesh GT, has 55% damage absorption and 140 durability while the best (normal) strength armour, the Exterminator Reactive XT, has 85% damage absorption and 220 durability and the lower level Reactive SLX, which requires 55 strength has 55% damage absorption and 120 durability. Two strength armours exist between the Reactive SLX and Exterminator Reactive XT, both of which have higher damage absorption and durability than the Exterminator Mesh GT.
  • Forgoing the strength to wear strength armour also means having to sacrifice using weapons that require lots of strength, such as assault rifles from XM8 onwards and heavy machine guns, as well as the GAU and the Grinder (if you're not willing to go up to 50 strength, which shouldn't be hard as you get to level 50)

Despite the disadvantages, having mesh armour definitely bolsters the image of the rogue survivor as a quick and deadly force. A rogue is supposed to be uncatchable right? So having good armor is not necessary and light armor literally makes a survivor even faster (at earlier levels). You shouldn't even get hit so much is what I'm saying.

---

For stats- to begin with, you could either choose to be an athlete with gives you a bonus of 25 agility or one of the other classes: service, production, or roleplay. Starting as athlete gives you the stat rogues are known for so you have a good start already on getting the rogue build; getting the service class gives you money from selling services and saves you money from either having cooking, doctoring, or armour repairing skills; production class gives you your level of food or medicine so you save money on buying the second food or medicine to get you back up; roleplaying gives you a 30% experience bonus so you level up faster.

Any of these is fine, really. Depends what you want to do, what you end up with. Assuming the former of the two stat-building types, the stats can end up like so:

Starting as Athlete.

Stats at level 1
Strength: 25
Endurance: 25
Agility: 50
Accuracy: 25
Critical hit: 25
Reloading: 25

The levels from 1-11 are spent on Agility so you get up to 100 before you have to do any real work on getting experience. 50 points are spent on melee along the way, saving you money from buying bullets as well as quieting your runs through the city.

Level 11
Str: 25
End: 25
Agi: 100
Acc: 25
Crit: 25
Rel: 25

Melee: 55
Weapon: Shovel

Now you focus on the punch of the hits, or critical~ With more critical hit you can deal 5x damage with each swing of melee or shot of the rifle. Assuming rifle is the gun to be used. You get your critical hit to 56, the minimum needed to get your final critical to 80 given an armour with a bonus of 24 critical hit. 80 is the standard number to get a decent amount of critical hits on the zombies... 112 is the perfect number for rifles though. You should aim for 112, which means getting 100 critical hit and weapons with Crit bonus adding to at least 12. Consider points in accuracy for your rifle as well (rifles require 60 Acc for reliable aim; get weapons with bonus for Acc as well). You should be getting a mesh armour by now.

Mesh armour notes: These are rare and elusive creatures on the market. Good ones, I mean. The ones that have high bonuses for agility and endurance and 45% or above absorption rate. +20 agility is the absolute advice for buying armour, regardless of whether it's strength or mesh armour. Endurance has less precedence. Agility can get you moving faster so you evade hits. Zombies should be dead before you run out of stamina from sprinting. These "bonused" armour are put on the market every day but are usually out of the average survivor's price range, going for 200k and above. Every so often you find one floating down at 140k or 90k or, if you're really lucky, going at 70k. I suggest shopping for armour with +22 and above agility and +5 and above endurance. Keep looting for cash and looking in the market every few days. You might find yourself with a nice surprise.

Level 21
Str: 25
End: 25 +24 = 49
Agi: 100 + 24 = 124, they'll die before they even get a chance to see what hit 'em!
Crit: 56 + 24 = 80, decent chance of critical hits
Acc: 36 + 24 = 60, reliable aim
Rel: 33 + 24 = 57, 2.26 seconds to reload; not bad

Melee: 55
Rifle: 50
Weapons: Shovel, M21 or Glacial Warfare
Note: Dayyum, 7.5 rifle bullets cost a lot! $6,200 for a 600-count case. Now I see why I chose pistol. Also, Endurance decreases the amount of energy spent sprinting in 3D now.

"Endurance modifies how much health you have. Each point of Endurance is equal to 2 hit points, with a minimum health of 50 at 25 Endurance, and a maximum health of 248 at 124 Endurance. In 3D, it also decreases the amount of energy you spend while sprinting. An Endurance stat of 100 will allow a character to run an additional 20 seconds over the base 25.

The formula for sprinting is (Endurance-25)/6.1875+24= sprint duration."

From level 21 onwards you can get your Crit up to 112 so you get the maximum of 80% critical hits and that reloading to the point where you're constantly shooting, which is 99 Reloading (1 second to reload; the normal rifles shoot one round per second) or 111 Reloading (0.66 seconds to reload; five rifles have a rate of 1.5 hits per second). Continue the 10 level difference~

Level 31
Str: 25
End: 25 +24 = 49
Agi: 100 + 24 = 124
Crit: 100 + 24 = 124, finally the perfect 80%
Acc: 36 + 24 = 60, still reliable
Rel: 39 + 24 = 63, 2.08 seconds to reload; .18 seconds faster, hooray?

Melee: 100, because rifle bullets actually cost a lot and katanas are cool
Rifle: 55
Weapons: Katana, M21 or Glacial Warfare
Note: You can also equip the Rebellion now, which is a unique rifle that requires 40 points in Rifle and can deal a DPS of 113.4 as well as uses the 9mm rifle ammo which go for $700 a pack instead of $6,300 whereas the VSS Vintorez, which requires 100 Rifle proficiency points deals a DPS of 107.1. Assuming you have $2-4 million or 2,000 (equivalent of $6 million in today's market) credits lying around by this time.

Now you focus on the reloading stat. And rifle or machine gun.

Level 41
Str: 30, can equip the submachine guns now, the highest level being the K-50M with a requirement of 90 "Machineguns" prof points
End: 25 + 24 = 49
Agi: 100 + 24 = 124
Crit: 100 + 24 = 124
Acc: 36 + 24 = 60
Rel: 89 + 24 = 113, 0.58 seconds to reload if using the Rebellion; 0.69 if using the Glacial Warfare or M21

Melee: 100
Rifle: 100
Machineguns: 5
Weapon: Katana, Rebellion or VSS Vintorez or SIC 550
Note: Oh hey, the SIC 550 uses 5.5mm rifle bullets, which go for $4,400 instead of $6,100, which the 7.5mm rifle bullets go for now.

From 41 to 50, the other stats are up for grabs. Machineguns or getting melee and rifle to 110 so you can equip the Dusk Carbine or Nodachi.

Level 50
Str: 50, can equip the Grinder, Steel 090, and Dusk Saw now
End: 30 + 24 = 54, a bit more Endurance just in case you get hit 10 damage points more
Agi: 100 + 24 = 124
Crit: 100 + 24 = 124
Acc: 56 + 24 = 80, more than reliable aim
Rel: 100 + 24 = 124, a quarter of a second to reload every gun

Melee: 110
Rifles: 110
Machineguns: 35
Weapon: Dusk Razor, Dusk Carbine, PP90 because you're a badass with a sense of humor; being srs: Nodachi, VSS Vintorez, PP90

Okay, from here forwards you can do whatever you like. All the requirements of being a rogue are met: max agility for ninja reflexes and Rainbow Dash speed, max critical hit for lethal ninja blows, max reload for constant shooting/Trigger Happy, decent accuracy so you hit your target perfectly with your rifle and near perfectly with your machine gun, and to top it of you have quiet weapons and that mesh armour. Sub-machineguns are quieter than heavy machineguns, guys.

I would suggest getting that Machingun proficiency at 90 so you can equip the K-50M, the mother of all sub-machine guns at 117.26 damage per second from 8.57 hits per second with a knockback that will keep spiders and tendrils at a standstill. Or 110 so you can get Criss Victor or Dusk SMG for the goddesses of destruction of sub-machine guns at 141.33 DPS ad 148.73 DPS, most respectively.

This is just a guideline for athletes with scrutinous notes from my brain. For other classes, you can work on agility and critical hit early on since you're missing 25 agility points to start with. >"Work on speed and lethality." Then branch out to 60 accuracy (with 24 of this from weapon bonuses, so it's 36 natural accuracy points - go with however many bonus Acc points your weapons give you) so your gun - be it pistol or rifle - can actually hit things, followed with reloading. Cut 25 points from other statuses. The reloading stat, for example, can be cut 13 points to have 87 natural Rel and 111 total Rel, since your guns will have instant reload by then, barring guns with Very Slow reloading and Slow and above (aka faster) firing speed, a combo which exists only for heavy machine guns which don't even count anyway since they have Super Fast Firing Speed or F***ing Fast! Firing Speed and a freaking sideways waterfall of knockback.

Look for another one exactly like it or better tommorow. Keep checking. Bought a Kolt Anaconda (+4 acc, +3 rel, +7 crit) for $20,000 instead. Resell for $28,000 if not useful yet. Get revenge from losing $5,775. Selling Kolt Anaconda for $28,000 then betting to $35,000.

July 11, 2010 ~10:10 PM Made it to $60,000 from around $28,000 then lost $50,000. When you get close to your goal, play it safer. You don't want to lose while you're ahead. Was trying to get $60,000 for Reactive XT800 with +22 agi and +10 end. It's been raised to $86,000.

Okay. Now have $33,898. Must raise to $90,000. New Reactive XT800 has +22 agi and +16 end and is black, costing $80,000.

So, after gaining 1/2 of the starting money, get looting and doing missions to earn ~$7,000 before you start betting again.

Example:

$8,000 starting -> bet to $12,000 -> $19,000 from loot and missions
$19,000 starting -> bet to ~$28,500 -> $35,500 from loot and missions
$35,500 starting -> bet to $53,250 -> $60,250 from loot and missions

I found a spare White Zylon Vest while going in to Dogg's, it's up for grabs in the market at my underpricing of 3400$. It's got no requirements and gives 25% Damage Reduction with 40 Durability points, snatch it up while you can. There are a few other things available from me as well, including a 5000$ Green Shirt- normally pricing around 6000$. Also 500$ for Cooked Baked Beans. Damn those foods are expensive.

"Censorship is telling a man he can't have a steak just because a baby can't chew it."
— Mark Twain

“I divide my officers into four classes; the clever, the lazy, the industrious, and the stupid. Each officer possesses at least two of these qualities. Those who are clever and industrious are fitted for the highest staff appointments. Use can be made of those who are stupid and lazy. The man who is clever and lazy however is for the very highest command; he has the temperament and nerves to deal with all situations. But whoever is stupid and industrious is a menace and must be removed immediately!”
— General Kurt von Hammerstein-Equord
