Okay, so the idea that I have is a little bit difficult to convey as it does involve alternate realities.
Two (or more) characters who are best friends/siblings/lovers are fully aware of each other in their waking life but once they fall asleep, life become increasingly confusing. The Dreamscape is a place where your sleeping life becomes your waking life and vice-versa. The only attachment a person's soul has to between the bodies is the fact that the soul takes on the bodies, no other connections whatsoever. The souls switch between two universes named Eve and the Dreamscape.
Now here is where it get interesting. At a certain point in each person's life, they have to decide which world they would ultimately reside in. Here's the problem
This pair has decided on becoming part of the Dreamscape society but they can't find each other as they get back to their separated lives, believing that this fantasy of theirs is a dream. Time is running out but they keep forgetting what they're truly searching for. Whether these two meet accidentally at the beginning or not, the question will eventually come into play "How do know this is real?"
Now, you made be tempted to ask why must they decide. If you are truly interested, display that interest and I shall message you why.
I'm hoping this came across. I was a bit back and forth with it.
How do you know this is real?

A few mistakes:
life become(s) increasingly confusing
The only attachment a person's soul has to (<--no) between the bodies
Now here is where it get(s) interesting.
"How do (you) know this is real?"
Now, you made (may) be tempted
