I know we have ashore, but this would be different on many scales of course.

Essentially. Group of students are on a plan coming back from a trip, crazy things happen and plane crashes on an island. Now it's up to the survivors to figure out where they are and how to get help/get off the island.

It wont be that easy. Between other groups of people, Mafia members, criminals, and for some bazaar reason ancient extinct animals that shouldn't be around.

Could you survive where not only your friend walking beside you but the creatures in the dark might just be your next enemy?

Bro, trust me I love the idea, but that type of rp has been tried twice and both times failed.

I know, I get what you are telling me. Im a bit stubborn and don't want to just give up of it. With the right people behind it, the right RPers joining, it should be able to work. Hence why I need to see who'd be up to get into me with something as of what has shaped in the past.

The issue with survival RP's is not the dedication of those involved, it's the lack of a cohesive plot structure. It's basically just survive... with others. It's ninety percent facial expression and emotional nuance. It's not that fun to really... do. And if it does have a concrete plot, like Ashore apparently does (through three acts!) it would likely be even MORE boring, since then every choice the players make and every action they do wouldn't really matter or mean much (See: Elegy of Chelytos, which we only tolerate because we all love our characters, also it just got more fun because we actually stopped being sheep and started making actual choices and you know role playing...).

But yeah. I can't see a survival role play ever doing very well.

d'aww, and I had plans to do a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. RP which falls under the survival category =<

Pretty sure if we tried (and I do mean try as in put a lot of effort) we could probably do a survival RP. I'm content with the ones we currently have going though.
