Oh I have a question. Did anyone ever level up with that thunder dragon above that cave? I remember spamming Quina's lvl 5 death and putting thunder protectors on everyone and just lvled up like crazy. I did this during my first playthrough, it was so addicting to watch the lvl number to go up that fast.

I did when I learned about it. I didn't even use coral rings. :> It was fun watching your characters go up 10 lvls.

Coral rings. As you might have noticed I'm forgetting ever little single detail of this game. I really need to replay. I need to do that 12 (or 10) hour thing, luckily I have a ps1 still lying around.

The PS1 helps in getting Excalibur 2. Skipping the cutscenes really helps a lot. They take off 3 hours? I think

Something like that. I always thought Gilgamesh references were mighty awesome.

So did anyone cleared this game? Killed Ozma, Hades, collected all items, etc.

Yea.. it does help but it's kind of a cheap way to do it.

Yea, I did on one of my files. Got 100%. Even got Excalibur 2. Was stupid hard though. Had to plan out every little thing and make sure I did it all right. If boss battles were taking too long I'd have to restart.. took over two months to actually really do it. Only had 26 total hours of gameplay with it too. So much restarting and doing things over and over to get a faster time..

Ouch. That's a looonnnggg process. I would never attempt to do anything of the sort. Did you use the disk removing mehtod, or did you do it with all the FMVs? .-. I've seen someone on youtube pull it off with all the FMVs, and still an hour or so to spare. It was crazy.

>_>; I'm on third disk, and nearly have 40 hours on my file. But everything except for Excalibur 2 is going perfect~

I did it on the ps2 so no disc removing for me. :x Had to go through everything normally. Was hard but felt pretty accomplished after I did it.

I thought it was possible to do it while skipping FMVs on a PS2? ._.

My hardcopy broke, pretty much, so I downloaded it from PSN on my PS3. No way to skip FMVs now lmao. I'll probably give it a try next summer, seeing as most of my possible time is already over. But I know, that in the end, I will most likely use CWCheat on my PSP to get it and then transfer save file to PS3. xD

Wait, you can actually move the game from ps3 to psp and back? Is there a limit to this? as in the the machines have to be under your account?

anyway, the psp can probably skip the fmv if you pull out the memory stick and then put in back it. Dion, you should try this, and tell me if its works. :O i'd be very interested to know.

From PS3 to PSP, yes, but not from PSP to PS3. You can transfer save files though. You can do it as many times as you like, as you own the game.

I'll try it on my next playthrough, because I just did an Excalibur 2 run without skipping FMVs. AND I did it in about 2 days. :D World Record I reckon.

Anyway, I need a fast AP method so that I can fight Ozma. Any suggestions?

What I currently need to do is find all friendly monsters, finish the Chocobo Hot & cold sidequest, and kill Ozma. I'll never get 100%, since I don't plan to get Excalibur II any time soon.

Hades was easy to me. I forgot who I used, I think it was Zidane, Amarant, Eiko, and Quina. It's been a while since I fought him.

I've read that if you catch 99 frogs you can get Quina's ultimate weapon. I caught 11 but there aren't anymore frogs left. I leave and go to other places and even progress in the story a little but there still aren't any frogs. What's the problem?

You probably didn't leave a male and a female to allow them to reproduce. They'll take a bit longer to restock. Catch frogs in other Marshes, meanwhile. I think they reproduce in proportion to the number of steps you take.

It's not a fast method, but you could try finding all the friendly monsters if you haven't already. They grant loads of AP compared to other monsters around there so long as you have many Ores/Moonstones/etc, and you'll probably fight loads just looking for them. Also, remember in-game trivia for the...Ringmaster, I think? He'll ask several X/O ( No/Yes ) questions pretaining to many topics.

I'm planning on playing this again soon. If I remember anything in particular soon, I'll let you know. :3

I've found the easiest way to get AP is just kill easier enemies. Of course I only do that after I have 9999 thievery and 9999 dragon crest. :/

Playing the game normally =/= Earning all available abilities.

Apparently you didn't have this problem, but I had a severe lack of abilities/spells for all of the characters near the end, especially for Zidane, Quina, and Amarant. Maybe that's just me playing to get to the end as fast as possible and only going a little out of the way for treasure, though. I was under the impression that that was the normal way to play. :I

Besides, if I remember correctly, Dino did this while on the run for Excalibur II. He's trying to go even faster than me by completely ignoring treasure/leveling/synthesis/chocobo training/catching toads/ATE Events/the Zidane and Blank battle/perfecting his Triad Master collection. The list goes on.

So I'm in Alexandria Castle right now fighting with a book that takes up too much time before the time limit ends for me to save Garnet. Advice anyone?
