The Haunting of Dusk Hollow
a seasonal survival-horror roleplay event


The Set Up
You awaken along with a few others in a shabby, run-down inn on the border of a town called Dusk Hollow. You can't remember why you were asleep, but every step you take in the town you can feel the hairs standing at attention on the back of your neck.

The sun never rises in this small, empty town. There are a handful of houses, but few residents seem to live in this place. Those who you do meet are strange, at best. No matter how far you walk down the winding road that leads out of Dusk Hollow, you always arrive right back at the side of the town you just left. Something, or someone, is keeping you here.

The Rules and Survival Tips
In addition to our regular Role Play Section Rules, there are the following:

1. Stay Active - If you don't stay active, you might not like the consequences

2. Time Limit - This roleplay will begin on October 1st and run until October 31st

3. Exploration - Feel free to go anywhere and do anything. Take things that you think might help you. Search around for other objects. There is no limit on this, and exploration is encouraged.

4. Talking to NPCs - there are a few rooted NPCs that you can converse with. They have limited knowledge, and some may be more helpful than others in uncovering the mystery of the town and keeping you alive.

5. Combat - There are no stats. There is no rolling for damage output. Sometimes it's more prudent to flee than fight.

6. Stay In-Character - This is pretty important, I feel. When things are pretty ominous, you should likely respond to it. Bravery isn't exactly going to be rewarded, especially if you're toe to toe with something that will eviscerate you without hesitation.

7. Keep your Objective in Mind - Since you're trying to survive the roleplay, you'll want to try and figure out what is going on. There are clues and information scattered about, so be diligent and work together.

Clothing: He wears a brown jacket with black long sleeve shirt, black jeans, and some black sneakers.
General Personality: He is one to keep himself in a light mood with jokes when things begin to get hairy. He's generally a good person but being raised in a harsh city has made him a little less gullible than others.

Weight: 175 lbs

Build: Skinny, relatively low amount of muscle.

Appearance: Filip would hardly stand out in a crowd - while a bit tall for someone from the Philippines, his heavily tanned complexion is nothing remarkable and there are no distinguishing scars or such on his body. His pale blue eyes (though they look closer to gray) and slicked back, short black hair are just as ordinary. It's hard to tell by looking alone, but Filip also has a large amount of scruff, as he lacks appropriate materials to even make a razor he'd feel comfortable using.

Clothing: Dirty black t-shirt (not that you could tell it's dirty), worn down brown sandals, and light blue jeans with big tears along the knees and small tears scattered about the rest of it.

General Personality: Filip is an optimist in most circumstances, even though he is far from a stranger to trouble or rough patches in life. He keeps 'work' and personal life separate, never bearing ill will to those he's had to steal from or trick in order to survive, even if they don't follow that policy themselves. Filip is happy to help out others deep down, but on the surface he is very suspicious of their intentions, considering a slight misstep in most of what he does for a living could mean prison or fines, so he tends to keep to himself.

Being a pretty casual girl, Lilian wears a white t-shirt with a faded logo of a business on it. She also wears faded, torn blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

General Personality:
Lilian is usually a very happy, sociable person. However, being a mystery writer, she is very analytical and tries to break down and understand everything going on around her. When she is like this, she rarely talks to anyone so she can concentrate.

Short Biography:
Lilian grew up in New York City, the daughter of a Japanese immigrant couple. From the time she was seven years old, she loved to write and discovered that she had a real talent for it. After three years of scraping together money from odd jobs, she finally had enough to put herself through a year long writing course. She found the work far to easy and eventually dropped out.At the age of 15, she entered a short story into a contest for her High School. She ended up getting first place, winning her school $50,000. She went on to become a very successful author.

Just as a note, three people isn't going to be enough for me to actually run this roleplay. When I IC'd it, I had a lot more people than that. I suppose I could still try to, but I wasn't really banking on characters jumping into the middle of the action. So uh, a few more sign ups or I may just cancel this.

that said, I do appreciate the three templates, and I may just run it anyway :\ we'll see how I feel tomorrow >_>;
