Having fallen out of love with Dragonfly since she was boring and flat, I've opted to create a new hero from scratch who will hopefully hold my interest better. I figured I would try and "force" myself to like her more by making her superhero "quirk" focused around mathematics.

Name: Emily Rockwell

Occupation: Full-Time Student, Part-Time Cashier

Age: 21
Sex: Female

Personality:

Traits:

+ Logical
+ Easygoing
+ Independent
- Irresponsible
- Shy
- Naive

Interests:

Likes:

+ Mathematics
+ Physics
+ Role-Playing
+ Home cooking
+ Cats

Dislikes:

- Biology
- Outdoors
- Crowds
- Dishonest Flattery
- Dogs

General:

Emily is a very by-the-books sort of girl. She is analytical and rational, and only ever engages in intellectual conjecture based in facts and figures which she can comprehend and express articulately. Despite this, she is very laid-back and tends not to argue with people who are simply wrong beyond just correcting them once. If they argue back, she'll shrug and tell them to "believe what they want."

Her views are her views and she does not expect anyone to share them or even to gratify her with validation for the things she believes and enjoys. She is also a professional procrastinator, self-titled, as she will always begin any assignment for any class the literal day that it's due. Sometimes she doesn't finish on time, but her grades on exams and the like tend to make up for any minor failures in homework.

Emily, as well, is largely averse to encountering and engaging with new people. She hates crowds and large open spaces, much preferring the comfortable quiet of her apartment. She doesn't get out much and is quite naive of the vast majority of social norms which most other people tend to take for granted. Stephanie has been trying to teach these to her, slowly but surely.

Appearance:

Height: 5'4"
Weight: 124 lbs
Eyes: Pale Blue
Hair: Reddish-Brown

General:

Emily has a freckled, olive complexion, and is relatively thin and frail. She eats well more than well enough; her frame is supported by her rather overactive metabolism. Before obtaining her powers, she was quite a bit chunkier than she is now, and she's not quite sure she likes the change much at all.

Her face is relatively round accented by her large blue eyes, long round nose, and myriad dark freckles. Her white smile has been described as anything ranging from "awkward" to "adorkable," with the latter being Stephanie's particular turn of phrase. Her slightly pronounced front teeth add to these descriptions.

On her face she wears silver glasses with thick rims (and lenses) to make up for her unfortunate near-sightedness. She wears them at all times, often claiming how uncomfortable contacts are when people find it proper to tell her how much "prettier" she looks without them on.

Her hair is long and rarely styled, simply falling down shoulder length on her left side, though it hangs down to her armpit on the right. If she styles her hair, she prefers ponytails and buns. She rarely cares enough to set up one or the other.

On the underside of her right wrist, Emily sports a tattoo which reads "{∅}" as the empty set is probably her most favorite mathematical symbol, and the almost ludicrous concept of the set containing only the empty set always makes her giggle.

Home Life:

Family:

Johnathan Rockwell - Biological Father: 46 [51] | Mathematician
Charles Manchester - Step-Father: 46 | Accountant
Patricia Manchester - Mother: 48 | Nurse
Nathan Manchester - Brother: 18 | Student
Stephanie Carter - "Sister": 21 | FT Student / PT Cashier

Story:

Emily's home life was as good as it could have been, given her circumstances. Her biological father (Johnathan) passed away when she was fifteen, but her mother remarried (Charles) shortly after.

Throughout her early life, Emily had been incredibly attached to her father, often begging to help him with his research. She learned early on how interesting Mathematics could be and developed an affinity for it before even entering school. Her passion for it was unmatched, to where her teachers through grade school simply pegged her as a mathematical savant. The truth, of course, was merely that she already knew everything she was learning in school. It was trivial for her by the time teachers got around to teaching it. She was privately tutored by her father up until high school, when he fell ill and passed away far sooner than Emily thought he ought to have.

His death left a large impact on the impressionable girl, as it left her with only an emotionally distant mother who seemed to care more for finding a new husband than helping her kids through their grief.

Nathan, Emily's little brother, thought both she and their father were crazy for how much they liked math and numbers. He never really got the charm, and was only twelve when he died, so he hardly remembers the man, now. Emily and Nathan had a cordial relationship, but they would hardly consider each other to be "friends" or even "acquaintances." It was all just as well, though, since a relationship with her brother beyond merely sharing blood would have made Emily's decision to leave harder.

When her mother remarried, Emily simply left. She was sixteen and so filed for emancipation and managed to get it when her mother even agreed to it. Emily moved out and found her own apartment, which she rents now with her closest friend from school (whom she had known since kindergarten!), named Stephanie Carter. Despite Stephanie gravitating toward the "popular" clique while Emily remained firmly within the "nerd" clique, they were the best of friends, even in high school. Living together only deepened their bond, causing them, eventually, to consider themselves to be as close as "sisters" would be.

The two of them also both ended up attending the same college as one another, which happened to still be local, so they could keep the apartment without worrying.

Alias: Möbius

Insignia:

Costume:

Head:

Emily sports a full, silver latex mask embroidered with a green X across the front of it. The eye holes of the mask are outfitted with glass which functions essentially the same as her glasses, keeping her vision sharper than it would be without. When in costume, she wears a silver "dx" earring dangling from her left ear and styles her hair into a side ponytail, hanging off the right-hand-side. The way her hair naturally grows, coupled with the particular way she ties it up makes the hair fall into the shape of an integral ( ) sign.

Chest:

On her chest, Emily wears a predominately silver, skin-tight, sleeveless shirt. Emblazoned across her chest is a large, green sign. Running down either side of her torso are lines of green padding to aid in flexibility. This top is connected as one piece to her pants, and is zipped from crotch to neck, cleanly shearing the in half. She has debated also sporting a flowing, green cape to compliment her hero getup, but has yet to find a practical reason to wear one.

Arms:

Emily wears green gloves on both her hands. Around each knuckle is a band of silver, and a double-band marks the very end of each glove just below her elbows. On the back of her right-hand glove is a large, silver + sign, while the back of her left-hand glove sports a similar x sign. She made sure the gloves were long enough to cover her awesome tattoo.

Legs:

Emily wears pants of similar make to her top, silver with green padding along the outsides of her legs. On her hips sit a pair of black belts which are sewn into the garment and act more as nice accent pieces. They each sport a bright silver buckle which, when both are closed, form an = sign at the base of her torso. She also sports a pair of knee-high, green boots. A stream of silver fabric splits them in half, running down the center of both the front and back of each boot.

Powers:

Superpowers:

Addition: Adds an extra copy of herself to the world! The copy is a perfect imitation, except that its mind must be controlled by Emily's own thoughts constantly, lest it just collapse and lay limp and lifeless as a doll.

Multiplication: Multiplies the strength of the muscles in various parts of her body temporarily to bolster the power of her attacks, or her ability to withstand injury!

Exponentiation: Focused, concentrated repeated multiplication enables Emily to perform various superhuman feats including, but certainly not limited to: leaping three stories straight into the air in a single bound, running flat-footed at speeds exceeding forty miles per hour, and scaling buildings and other such structures using only her hands and feet.

Quirks:

Induction: You succeed at something once, then again! This implies that you can succeed again! And again! And again!!

Contradiction: Your enemy assumes they can succeed at something. You prove that they are mistaken by showing the opposite to be true.

Origins:

Emily fell in with the wrong people at a party and was pressured into trying a "new drug" on the market, which seriously messed up her cellular biology. With peculiar new powers and no conceivable way of reversing them, Emily has opted instead to take this as a chance to role-play in real life, rather than solely over her computer.

As the drug begins to garner more attention from folks around campus and more and more people begin to be affected by its ill effects, Emily begins to devote herself to the cause of defending people who can't defend themselves from the tweaking, drug-addicted psychopaths who took the drug a few more times than the mere once that Emily did.
