So as many of you know, I recently got a new computer. It came with Windows 8. Now, first off, W8 is far different then W7 and Vista. It looks very different and interacts differently as well. Is this a good thing? Somewhat. I don't like the app feeling it gives you. Theres no more start menu or button. You just slide your mouse over to the side of the computer, a window will pop up then you click it. Thus bringing up all of you 'apps'. Pictures, music, videos, news, etc all in boxes along the screen. It's pretty neat but I wish they kept the start button but whatever. One annoying thing is that whenver you scroll to the very edge of the right side, a panel will come up asking things. It gets frustrating when you're just looking around on a site and it pops up.
So far I haven't had any problems with the system at all. It runs smoothly. No errors, no freezes and it's pretty fast at that. Then again it might just be that I have a rather decent computer but it doesnt seem so bad.
Anyone else have w8 or planning or getting it? And if I had to rate it, I'd give it a 7/10. It could be much better in a lot of areas but I feel that it has potential and that Microsoft has gone the right way with what they have brought out to the table for the future.

Ugh, the idea of windows 8 on a desktop is so ew to me. I really looks like it's best for touch screen desktops or tablets. Even then, I'd still prefer is stay away from the desktop and go onto a tablet. A friend of mine grabbed it for his computer and told me he didn't mind it on his desktop but he really would've preferred it on his tablet. Uninstalled it later on too.
I've heard the multitasking with windows 8 is something worth praising, though. Makes it sound pretty nice compared to other systems you'd find on a tablet.
Me actually getting windows 8? Maybe if I grab that new tablet windows put out, it looks really neat (and no I'm not saying that because of the whole clippity-clappity ad). The possibility of that happening is slimmer than my chances of grabbing a PS3 though >_>. Yeah, if I was to ever get it would have to be on a tablet, I can't see it on a computer :/ (or feel comfortable with it if I did magically get it on my laptop or any future desktop)

I built 2 computers just recently and both the people that wanted windows 8 in their comps were shot down by me. I wouldn't recommend it unless you had a touch screen or a tablet. Its accessibility has increased in the prowess when it comes to multi tasking, it's a HUGE improvement, but over all it's a step down from 7. it's unnecessarily convoluted and takes a huge time to get used to. :/
