Through discussion with Wynn, I think you'd be best suited for a different job on the site, more along the lines of news and such. Something where your writing skills could be put to better use than just writing up minor things for the Inferno that few people will ever see.
Also, to add on to the questions set up in the first post, I'd like to add some more in-depth game-development questions that will help us in the early parts of game mechanic decision-making.
5) In earlier incarnations, we tended to lock you into one of 2-3 broad classes such that you'd be relegated to unique spells and abilities of that class which then force you to fight a certain way all of the time. I'm curious as to whether or not anyone who has played before liked this system or if you think that an open approach (freely switching between magick and strength) would be better.
6) I tend to like locking the player into a specific Element at the outset of the adventure. You'd pick from Fire, Ice, Wind, or Earth and be stuck with that Element for the remainder of the game, only having access to spells and abilities of that one particular Element (no unique effects, just different sprites). Would you like this idea to continue or should the restrictive Element choice be eliminated completely?
7) Spirits. This should come as no surprise that my favorite form of Ally WILL be returning. My question is whether you'd rather have the adorable animals or the glowing orbs as your Spirit companions this time around.
I want good answers. :< Don't go all one-wordy on me, give reasons behind your answers or I'll just disregard them. I know what I currently am planning to do, but I want input before I go about doing it. My mind CAN be swayed.
5) I've never been really fond of being locked in. I always like going Str then Magic, plus, you can't ever make a chapter boss the same strength for Str and Mag. Always have one being in someway easier or having something a bit different. I'd rather have it more free in terms of how we play with stats and equipment.
6) Now, locking into a element is what I like. It'd be a bit easy to make fire sleights and fire spells to give to a player. They can only ever use those. Can't go outside of that but can still go between Strength and Magic. I'd really like something like that to be done. It lets things be free, yet still have some limits and control over things giving a wide range of how things can be done. Also eliminates Knights or Mystics being stronger then the other and one of them almost always beating the other out. Also, more then just those elements, Dark, Light, Thunder, things like that would be nice. Heck, maybe even more. I know you're rather creative.
7) I really liked spirits having an animal form honestly. Was better then it being a floating ball of light next to me.. if anything, I'd like it to start out as a creature then evolve after a while, finally turning into a little person like over at another place.
/Last post is very late.
At least it's still another post in section and gives food for thought. :O
