I can't believe I never properly looked at this thread.

 

That game looks amazing. Is that an open world stage? It looked like you could take the fights anywhere on that field, and that field looks really big. I just hope it doesn't turn out to feel really empty.

 

If it's coming out on the PS4 then online modes are going to be really fun. Imagine the large battles you could have, or an online arcade mode where you fight non-stop against an endless lineup of players. With a graphics update (if they do one, which I suspect they will since they'd have to compete against the "pretty" games because of master race graphics players) battles would look beautiful in that scenery.

Arcade vs PS4 graphics comparison trailer released by Square today. Game is pretty good looking on both platforms. Not sold on that interface but it's a WIP. Holy shit I am beyond excited. More excited for this than I am for FF15. I just hope this has a story mode like the original PSP games - the story was really well written and was what really got me into the series.

No though, seriously, as far as spin off characters go, I really want them to put in Sora or Riku as a secret character. The obvious choice they will go with is a character from Type-0 but I honestly don't find the Type-0 cast very interesting. Maybe that's just me.

I would rather them not include KH characters in this shit ever. Ever. KH costume unlocks? Sure. KH characters? No. Maybe give OK a Sora skin. Sure. Whatever. Just to make people shut up about it.

I suppose you're right in that they wont fit in as well - but they need to add characters to freshen up the series a bit more than they already are. 

 

There will almost definitely be DLC characters.

I don't think so. If you look at 50ish characters in Dissidia, you don't really need to go very far outside of Final Fantasy titles to find characters to include that would be welcome.

 

The early entries are pretty minimal in terms of interesting/important characters to add in, however the later entries are not.

FFII - Firion / Maria / Mateus

FFIII - Onion Knight / Luneth / Cloud of Darkness / Xande

FFIV - Cecil / Kain / Rydia / Golbez (Maybe Edge?)

Of these characters you can break them down into several broad groups: Weapon Melee / Casters / Ranged / Monks

Dissidia was originally meant to be a KH game...but they didn't like player controlled Donald and Goofy using weapons to beat stuff or something like that. Same thought was used towards the possible KH movie.

 

Would I like KH characters in Dissidia? Sure. But I don't need it. There are plenty of FF characters I want to bash people up with. (Edgar, Vivi, Relm, Serah (jk), Sazh, and Shadow w/ Interceptor over Edge being good examples)

 

If it sells the arcade though, and disney says okay. Expect some Sora.
