THERE.IS.A.GOD. *Maru cries with joy* T_T Oh how we've all waited for this day to come when they released that vid of Aerith with her flower cart years ago to just SHOW they could remake 7, and now it is happening for real.Thank you, Nomura.Thank you!! <3 I never did get far in the original. So do you guys think we'll see a return of the classic turn based system or will it be like XV? ^_^

I figure everything broken in the original would be fixed and then some. It's not like the game is just an HD remaster. It's a remake. Everything should be redone in it. I'm figuring that they'll keep the core elements the same but fix things and adjust them accordingly. Maybe even add a few things into the game. I have high hopes and really want this to be the most amazing thing Square puts out.
If Square doesn't come through with this and its half assed, they will really, REALLY, be hurting a lot of their core fans in the FF series. Something wanted for so long and loved by so many, turning out to be complete shit? That wont go over well at all.

Indeed, Luffy, and I'm sure they have taken that into account to definitely not do, the half-ass part.As for new things, perhaps a card game similar to VIII's, maybe they'll add some new optional bosses in, like Gilgamesh or Genesis or Minerva, or even never before seen Weapons that make Ruby and Emerald Weapon look like child's play, or a Weapon for everyone that is better than their Ultimate Weapon that's even harder get.Looking forward to seeing more on this beautiful game. Can we just talk about
- Crossdressing Cloud
- The Hottub Scene
- Tifa in general
- Aerith in general
- Continuity and linear/nonlinear choices in the original
Because these all could be pretty interesting to see play out. I could easily see this game getting an M rating.
Im dum.
Shhhhh. It's okay. We understand.

Here's a little interesting read about the game.
http://www.siliconer...e-to-its-story/
From the way it was said in the interview, the game is going to actually be a fair shade different from the original FFVII. I'm hoping this doesn't mean that they'll entirely reshape how the game is.
I do worry about the story aspects and wonder if this 'remake' will keep the game the same with how things go. Or if they'll change how things happen and make it be a sort of stand alone title. Aerith not dying, the games end villain not being Sephiroth, maybe seeing AC timeline in the game and doing something in that? Who knows... Im a bit worried about it but I'm still really hyped and cant wait for Winter. The one thing that worries me is the whole revealing the name of the game... I really half to wonder what that truly means.

I'm almost positive the original's story will not be messed with, just expanded upon with references and stuff from its prequel, Crisis Core, as well as hints to events that will happen in AC and Dirge of Cerberus possibly.

Nomura (who is directing) confirmed in the interview with Dengeki that there will be expanded story elements from Kazushige Nojima, who wrote the original scenario along with Yoshinori Kitase. I very highly doubt any major story elements will be altered.
I think the major adjustments will be in gameplay, much of which simply wouldn't work in a modern (Final Fantasy) game.
