As a little background, our homeserver was originally Cactuar. A few of us, after two months of hard labor, managed to get the Knightly-Gamers free company to rank five; however, we were faced with a bit of a problem: We only had four active members. Unfortunately, this just wasn't going to work out for endgame content. So, after talking to Shamdeo, we all decided it would be best to move to Ultros and join the free company that he was a member of. With over four hundred members, GAF is massive, and they're all a bunch of great people.

 

We do have a private linkshell for the forums, and Sham also has one for the KHI group. Invites can be gotten by bugging either of us.

 

Also, for those of you who haven't noticed, we've all based our player characters on characters from the various rp's we've done over the years (Author's Note: I suddenly feel old). The nostalgia alone is priceless, and I hope you'll join us in reviving a few of our favorite characters.

 

Joining the Free Company

This gets its own section, since it can be a little confusing. There are no level requirements to join GAF. I'd recommend joining as soon as possible, since everyone is super helpful and will usually help out with any trouble you run into.

 

To join, you first need to make an account here. After that, you'll need to hit the recruitment tab near the top of the page. This will ask you a few basic questions, like your planned job, and also for your neogaf username OR a referrer. If you aren't a member of neogaf, you simply need to use one of our character names; anyone on the list is fine. Once you've finished and submitted that, send one of us a tell ingame and we'll get an officer to add you.

We've been planning on playing this together for the past few weeks, so I figured we can discuss what classes our party is going to comprised of. This way, we can get the most of the game while also being efficient. Please post here regarding all the progress and stuff we make. We can use this thread as our "headquarters" of sorts. :D

I'll start off as an Archer. YES. I AM THE ARCHER. I CALL DIBS YOU WHORES. I'll be the party's archer and do arching shit. The good thing is, I can't just rush into an attack but the bad thing is, I can attract enemies from a distance like an idiot(yeah).

I'm most likely going to start of as a Pugilist should be interesting to try, since I can beez a monk after. What about other non-physical jobs? We can all choose one to level and really hold true to a KG FFXIV team. I call dibs on Blacksmith if you guys are down.

I was looking into when the open beta and the Early Access dates are and it seems a tiny infographic has been leaked online. Not sure how accurate this is, but fingers crossed.

I already have Roy Ventus in my head. He'll be an archer that comes from a family of fishers, thus making his profession fishing. He'll be a non-traditional religious guy with some sharp eccentricity. He's a schemer and prefers speed to other attributes with a tactical mind-set on the battlefield and adventurous heart. 

 

Yeaaahhh. I probably won't be in character so that's just sugar coating shit. He'll be a fisherman who's also an archer.

I'm likely gonna be maining Lancer; I'll run a White Mage for party play, though, if we have nobody else who's down to do that role, though, since I wanna be a Holy Lancer essentially in my normal class setup. Though I'd prefer to roll Dragoon, if somebody else is good for White Mage.

Still deciding on Bard or Summoner. Most likely going for the latter unless Bards function like the ones in FFT :v

I'm likely gonna go with Gladiator Blacksmith, but this might change. I'll let ya'll know when I start with Beta 4

I also haven't decided if I'm going to try and maybe pseudo-role play in FF14 by making someone like Raeneth or whathaveyou. If I do end up making a character, that might dictate whatever skills/roles I'm going to take part in :v
