Transcending time and space. No easy task but someone's gotta do it.

Deep within the folds of space and stars exist the Paradigm Plane. 'Time' cannot escape or seep within its boundaries. The only way to access this idiosyncratic point on the fabric of reality is a secret only known to those who exist within in it. However, one can never truly be called a resident of this dimension. Everyone who has set foot within Paradigm has, at one point, lived in a world far different from this one and return to them once their purpose has been achieved. As such, the only way for a being to arrive at Paradigm is by being summoned through a unique ritual.

This ritual takes place in front of the Academy Square, right in front of the gates of the fortress-like structure itself. Walls made up of what seems to be stone surround this area while a fountain statue of a fairy is found at the center. Trees are placed to fill up the space inbetween the walls and the Academy, though not much is done to conceal the sky above them. In fact, there really isn't much of a sky to begin with. Clouds of stardust and the infinite darkness of space all take up the view above, with racing comets and shooting meteors occasionally passing by.

However, today marks a special occasion. A few ribbons are laced up on the trunks of the trees and a welcoming banner is also in front of the entrance. Celebrating this day is only one man though. He is dressed in gray three-piece suit with matching pants, along with a top hat on his head and a walking stick on his side. At the end of the stick is a clear crystal that would normally reflect one's eyes with the very picture of their souls. Not this man's though. In fact, none can even directly see his eyes nor his face. His whole body is covered in white bandages.

Do not let his appearance fool you though. As you have this message played in your mind, you now find yourself awakening under the shallow depths of the fountain pond, with this man awaiti...

"Welcome. May I offer you three a towel to dry yourselves off?"

Xander's vacant gaze burst forth from his fluttering eyelids. What he saw was confusing. The space before him bobbed and swayed as if in water. He blinked and sat up quickly, water cascading from his being. His gloves hands dabbed at his face in vain attempt to dry himself. His eyes caught sight of the vastness of space above him. For a moment his mind wandered, but he was quickly brought back to the real world, if this WAS the real world, by a rather dapper man offering three people a towel.

He furrowed his brow and glanced over at two others who were nearby, also soggy and drenched. He pulled himself from the fountain, his clothes rejecting the excess water beyond their limit of absorption in a noisy clattering of droplets returning to their initial source.

He held up a hand as if to stop the man's gesture. He took a cautious step out of the fountain and away from the others and snapped his moist fingers. An incredible rush of wind erupted from his feet to his head, blowing the hood from his visage. He took hold of it and pulled it back to its rightful place. He shot a sideways glance at the well dressed man and thought into the three of the others' minds.

'Thank you, but that won't be necessary. Is this it? Paradigm Academy?'

The query was a cordial matter, not one he needed to ask to find out what he sought.

His mouth never moved. Instantly his name would appear in each of their minds as if they already knew him. It eased the drawn out custom of exchanging names. He already pulled the names of the two who were in the fountain with him.

He tried to take a gander into the thoughts of the man before them and retrieve the information for himself before a reply was formulated. He was unsure of the man's mental abilities or his knowledge of who Xander was. He decided to seek these answers as well while he was lightly plumbing the stranger's mind.

A sudden instinct it was, the thing that made Rainer open her eyes in urgency. She lay at the bottom of something filled with water, it was too soon to tell. Quickly she placed her hands on the area beneath her and pushed herself up, her face bursting out of the surface of the crystal clear water. Rainer could hold her breath for long periods of time, so the water did not affect her.

She took a while to recover from waking up from the bottom of the supposedly large amount of water. Once she did, looked at her surroundings, turning her head to the right, then to the left. She couldn't believe her eyes.

It was like they were in space. There were large clusters of stars and a few meteors flying past occasionally, enough meteors for Rainer to wish for all her desires. There were trees planted around the area she was in, but what took Rainers attention the most was the large building up ahead. Widening her eyes, she quickly jumped up from her spot in the water, large droplets flew around as she did. She hadn't gotten up from her spot as graceful as you'd expect.

Rainer was soaked from head to toe. Her pants felt slightly heavy and felt like they were slipping off of her. They slightly were slipping off of her if you looked close enough, you could see the very fine tips of her undergarments you stared at that area long enough. Looking at herself, Rainer feared that her white shirt might've become see through. Luckily for her, her shirt was thicker than she though and therefore was not see through at all, just tighter. Rainer looked up to see a man that was nicely dressed.

She didn't see his face, but his strong body shape was enough to give away that he was a man. He was dressed in a nicely pressed suit and in his hands was a cane. She looked closer to his hand, only to see that his hand was nothing but a bunch of bandages. Her eyes went down to his nicely polished dress shoes, slowly scanning his body until finally she met the mans face, or what she expected to be a face. Rainer could see no eyes, nose, mouth, ears or skin on the man. Instead it was just bandages wrapped around the shape of a head.

"Uh...." Rainer could not speak, but only mumble some sound of confusion and shock. She looked to the other two people in the water with her. Looking at the one man, a name popped into her head as soon she looked into him. Xander is what it was.

She raised her eyebrow, then looked at the surface she was standing in. She stood in a nice fountain with statue of a fair in the middle. Rainer started to feel like she was dreaming, put into some strange fantasy world. She looked back to the man in bandages, wanting to know more about the odd situation she was in.

Thank you, but that won't be necessary. Is this it? Paradigm Academy?'

The words echoed in Damien's mind, causing his eyes to slowly open as he awakened from a slumber he didn't remember entering. He just stared up at the black, spacious "sky" above, seeing millions of stars and even the occasional comet and asteroid pass by, the trail of light and dust behind it following it like a stray puppy. He then realized that he wasn't simply laying on a slab of soil or even the concrete of the cities that he was used to walking on, but rather he was underwater, in a fountain with crystal clear water. He rose up from his place in the fountain, coughing and struggling for his body to accept the air around him as the source that kept him alive in his home dimension.

After suffering from a coughing fit for a couple minutes, Damien's body was able to accept the new environment he was in, which he figured was the environment he was now stuck in. The bleach-white walls of the building ahead of him, the beautiful, fairy fountain behind him, and the large "Welcome" banner above the entrance to the structure showed that he was no longer in Neomondalas. The place appeared to try to be homely and comforting, but it didn't prove successful to Damien, who was busy shivering in fear and in need of heat and something to comfort him. In order to fulfill his need for comfort, he pulled out his stuffed bear, holding it close as he walked out of the fountain.

Around him, there was a man who was dressed in bandages, a gray, dressy suit, and a walking stick and top hat accompanying him, giving him a slightly strong yet comforting appearance. A small distance away from the bandaged man was a man dressed in a black cape and robes, much like Damien's, but appeared to be much more powerful and a little unfriendly. Damien was a small distance away from the only girl in the square, dressed in a drenched, white shirt with a wave emblem emblazoned across it, a pair of dark blue pants slightly sagged down on her body. Personally, the people around him looked significantly older, making him feel even more nervous, making him feel afraid to speak. However, he knew one of them would have to break the awkward silence, so he asked what any shivering little boy would ask.

"Excuse me, sir, but you wouldn't happen to have a towel or something, would you? I don't know if you noticed or not, but waking up in a fountain isn't exactly warm. I'm sorry if I'm sounding demanding or anything. My name is Damien, sir." Damien nervously asked, trying to keep his shivering to a minimum while he extended his hand to the bandaged man.

"Very well then." As the gentleman extended the towel in his hand, a stream of green energy started to build up around it. This energy was not ordinary; it felt as if it had a presence of its own. The towel then levitated from his hand and landed on Damien's shoulder. The remaining energy then shot back immediately to the fountain, creating a huge splash in the process. A fanfare then started to play from seemingly out of nowhere and the trees started to sway back and forth vigorously.

"And yes, welcome to Paradigm Academy. One of you might already know this but I am Lord Mason Phoenix, Le Dandy Immortal. Please, follow me."
The enigmatic gentleman then slowly walked towards the grand entrance doors of the academy. As he was a couple of steps away from the entrance, they then opened slowly.

What stood before them was a portal of blinding light. This was not a problem for Mason, not just because he had no eyes but he had also grown used to standing before this entrance.
"No time to waste now. As you step into this light, it will determine whether or not you all actually belong here. Be wary though. When you enter the portal... You will be shown true horror. An armageddon of your own homeworld will materialize itself in front of you while being transported. Whether or not it becomes the truth of your destiny will all depend on you." said Mason before stepping into the portal himself.

"Paradigm Academy huh?" Rainer walked towards the rim of the fountain. Water ripples danced along the water each step she took. She wasn't taking large steps, she was merely cutting through the water as she moved her legs forward. Finally she placed her foot on the rim of fountain and pushed herself up, then jumped onto the ground in front of the fountain.

Bending over slightly, she squeezed the bottom of her pants, water dripping down from them while making her pants less heavy. She stood back right up, her body was still dripping with water despite having squeezing some out. Rainer let out a sigh of frustration before putting her arms out at her sides. Concentrating for a while, she made the water on her body fly off of her and hover around her. She made sure to get the water from the ground as well before finally sending them back into the fountain. Rainer was completely dry after doing this.

She looked at the other person there with her, apart from the man that could apparently speak in their minds. He looked like he was eight years old. She let out a sigh and then followed the bandaged man. She was going to play along, thinking her friends might've taken her at night and were pulling some type of prank on her. She stopped walking and put her arm out in front of her to shield her eyes from the sudden burst of light.

"No time to waste now. As you step into this light, it will determine whether or not you all actually belong here. Be wary though. When you enter the portal... You will be shown true horror. An armageddon of your own homeworld will materialize itself in front of you while being transported. Whether or not it becomes the truth of your destiny will all depend on you."

Slowly Rainer put her arm to her side, adjusting to the light slightly. "Arma...geddon?" Rainer looked at the strange portal of light slightly confused. She didn't know whether to believe this odd bandaged man, Mason.

She looked back behind her, to see if anyone else was going to follow. After a few worrisome thoughts on whether she should go or not, Rainer shrugged and walked in after him. She slowly disappeared in the large portal of blinding light.

Xander's unblinking eyes remained focused on the towel being manipulated with jade energy, his eyes flicking to the man in the bandages and suit. His brow furrowed, his mind reeling while trying to grasp how he could have done so. He had no answers. He clenched and unclenched his fingertips, digging his nails into his palms to try and ascertain if he was dreaming or not. His attention was called by the sudden fanfare which startled him slightly.

He blinked and listened to the odd man as he gestured them towards a doorway of light. Xander's mouth tightened as he shot a sideways glance to the other two at his side. The young girl was the first to venture into the door, and Xander took a look to the young boy who remained.

'There's nothing to be nervous about, I'm sure.'

With that, showing he was a man who didn't lie to make others feel better, he followed after the girl and entered the door of light. At first, he felt nothing. Then, a warm sensation tingled across his skin and he felt as if he was falling. He looked around, recognizing the area instantly as the mansion where he grew up. Birds sang softly in the verdant trees and he smiled to himself as he found himself home again. Maybe it all was a dream after all.

He blinked. When his eyes opened, the house was in flames, and the sky a blood red. His eyes widened as he looked around to hear people screaming and shouting in pain. Cloaked men on the backs of some creatures he didn't recognize roamed the streets carrying blood encrusted weapons. With ease and sickening little hesitation, they plunged their weaponry into any one who came within reach of the lengthy implements of death. He turned away, his eyes angled skyward as a glowing mass of light grew brighter by the moment. He felt his body incinerating, felt the bones and fragile fibers of his being beginning to shred.

He fell to his knees on the other side of the portal. His mind buzzed and hummed tremendously. His fingertips gouged into his temples, trying to make the pain stop. In a few moments his eyes opened, the pain thudding gentler each passing second. He struggled to his feet, wavering slightly. He felt light-headed, and very unsure of his ability to stand without falling over.

Was it a vision? Magic? Was the "Armageddon" he witnessed a sure destiny? A possible one? Was it the same for each of them? He wasn't exactly sure. He wasn't even sure if what he saw was merely his own interpretation of what Armageddon looked like. Suddenly, the memories of his experiences began to fade quickly, he could barely remember details, like a fleeting dream. However, he was visibly shaken, to say the least.

Arm... aget don? If that man, Mason, said it would be a scene of true... horror, then how bad could it be? What about that other guy, Xander, and what he said? Is it truly not going to be as bad as Lord Mason said? Damien thought to himself, growing more and more hesitant on whether he should enter the portal of light or not.

Seeing as how everyone else entered the portal with little fear, Damien decided he should enter the portal himself, hoping that he was mearly overreacting to fearing the word he never heard before. When he entered the portal, he discovered he had a reason to be hesitant on his decision on whether to enter or not. As he entered his home dimension of Neomondalus, everything appeared peaceful enough, the usual buildings standing tall above him, people continuing their daily commutes, and the sky was the normal hue of cotton candy pink. However, this would soon change as the smile on Damien's relieved face grew.

Soon the sky quickly changed to an Earth ocean blue tint, while meteors began falling down towards the helpless citizens below them. Buildings crashed down to the soil, their supports completely decimated, while sorcerers and mages tried to work together to push back the threatening rocks raining from above, their blood soon creating rivers across the ground. As their limbs rained down from the impact and their structures destroyed, any who survived would soon feel the wrath of the quickly changing climate, the surviving denizens burned alive as flames rained down from the blue sky, screaming in pain and terror.

Damien fell down to his knees, his eyes flooded with tears as he watched helplessly at the scene before him, creating their own puddles on the ground as he sat down and cried. In his mind, he immediately remembered his parents who constantly abused and punished him, his brothers and sisters dead along beside them, as they all used to fight and make fun of him, but his emotions toward them never changed. Despite the constant verbal and physical abuse, he still loved them as though none of the beatings, names, or torture ever happened. Deep down, he knew they loved him, wishing for him only to become stronger and be able to endure more punishment and torture.

"I'll make sure that... whatever this armageddon thing is will never happen. Mom... Dad... I'll do whatever it takes to become stronger and become the son that you always wanted. I'll make sure this never happens. Even if I have to give up my life in the process, I'll do anything if it means saving you." Damien sobbed, rising up from his place on the ground.

A few steps along the clean sandy beach made Rainer doubt what the man had said. She turned to the sea and smiled, feeling silly that she had dreamed of such a place on the beach when she could've gone for a swim. Putting her hands on her hips Rainer basked in the rich sunlight and looked up to the cloudy sky's. Closing her eyes she listened to natures most beautiful sound, the sound of the waves sliding onto the beach and maybe hitting the rocks near by. Rainer lived in luxury, she couldn't imagine life any different. Slowly she opened her eyes, expecting to see the clear blue sky she saw before, sadly a clear blue sky is not what she was going to have her eyes greeted with.

The sky was now covered in almost black sinister looking clouds. Loud rumbling sounds were made like in a storm. Rainer just thought it was a sudden weather change, not once wanting to consider what Mason had said. Suddenly louder rumbling sounds were made and the ground started to shake violently. The wind picked drastically and the coconut trees behind Rainer were straining to keep standing tall. Suddenly large cracks appeared on the ground under Rainer, it only needed a few seconds before the ground split open. Rainer jumped forward, towards the water so she would not fall into the crack. Suddenly loud crashing sounds were made and an enormous thunder bolt hit the water. The area it hit started to boil and then the waters surface started to break. A giant scaly hand with webs between it fingers rose up from the water. It was the size of something larger than a giants. It reached forward and hit the sand, causing the ground to rumble some more. The wind blew harder against the trees, Rainer was about to fall over. The scaly hand pushed down on the ground and at the area where it came from, rose a giant fish man like monster.

It looked at Rainer, it's eyes were nothing but yellow glowing slits. It had two holes where it nose would be for nostrils. It had lips, but its mouth was oddly pushed out. Its entire body was blue and scaly and on its head, going down to his back, were large black spikes. A tail rose from the water, obviously the monsters. It was blue and big with a few spikes at the end.

It blinked at Rainer before getting a look on its face that made it look provoked. Slowly, its mouth opened and then Rainer saw the monsters terrifying teeth. It had hundreds, maybe thousands of rows of teeth. Rainer could see them clearly as it made a loud deafening roar. It tongue was long and wiggled around at it yelled.

"Oh Shi-" The ground started to shake again and more cracks on the ground was made. Turning around, Rainer jumped onto the small space of land that the cracks had made. She kept jumping until she was almost at the trees behind her. Rainer smiled to herself, until frowning at the unbelievable thing she saw next. The trees were ripped from the ground and flew past Rainer. It flew towards the see and then circled a spot far out in the water. Rainer looked back to see a large black tornado ripping the water and heading towards her.

This is insane!. Rainer turned back to where the trees were and saw the volcano that island had. It started to shake before ripping in half. Lava shot out into the sky and also flew between the split part of the volcano. Soon large lava balls flew down onto the island, as few almost hitting Rainer.

Rainer heard screaming next. People were running towards the water from town, some of them were hit by the lava balls or fell into the cracks of the ground by not watching where they were going. The monster that was in the water looked at the ground of people and roared at them. The group stopped, a few people fell of the few that stopped in front. Rainer didn't expected to see what she did after that. The monster swooped it head and opened it mouth wide open. The crushing of bones could be heard a mile away. Blood fell from the monsters mouth like rain. It had eaten them.

Rainer stood there, her face was expressionless. She could only imagine the friends she that were eaten by that monster. Her hands shook before her eyes filled up with terror. Rainer felt some warmth behind her, the same light from the portal grew larger and larger before finally coating Rainer.

Rainer stumbled backwards when she made it to the other side of the portal. She backward on the ground, her hands pressed on the ground next to her. Her eyes still showed the horror she had felt. Her hands were still shaking and Rainer started to breathe more faster.

"That...can't be real! It just can't! What is this crap you showed me!?" Rainer yelled out, her fist hit the ground beneath her with her fist while she looked at the floor between her legs. She tried hard to not break down in tears, she used her aggression to do so.

As they all slowly came stumbling out of the portal, the ever mysterious Mason awaited for them at the other side of the room. The inside of the Academy's entrance hall was made completely out of pearly white tiles and had marble statues of the same fountain fairy that could be found outside. Three of these statues were placed on each side of a long, red rug with one end starting from the portal and the other end stopping just before another set of doors. When all three of the new recruits had finally stepped through and regained their composure, the enigmatic Mason started to fade away into thin air.

"I've seen the apocalypse of my world play out perhaps over a thousand times. Sometimes we have no choice... I have no choice. But all of you do."
With those words, Le Dandy vanished without a trace. The doors behind him soon opened and out came a metallic, flying disk which was no bigger than a frisbee. This disk floated itself towards Rainer, Damien and Xander, emitting a few flashing lights and a buzzing sound presumably from its motor. It then projected a cylindrical beam of light downwards and from within that light, out came a rather stubby man.

He had a white lab coat, a pair of green suspenders, a pair of black sunglasses, brown trousers with a matching pair of shoes and a pink polo shirt. His hair was gray and long while his beard and mustache of the same color covered his mouth. The man then extended his arms towards the group and started to speak in a rough, raspy voice.

"Welcome, youngsters! You must be the lot Phoenix summoned on this grand occasion. He had all scouted you during your dreams and all three of you had accepted his offer..."
The man then paused and retracted back his arms. He shifted his eyes towards one of the statues. As he did so, the same green energy stream from outside shot out from it and directed itself towards the same set of doors Mason disappeared nearby.

"Well, it seems Phoenix wasn't the only one who scouted you. But I digress. Salvation is upon your world! And I, Professor Horakthy Scottensteiner, am here to aid you bring that salvation, along with the other instructors of the Paradigm Academy. Now, I know all of you must have questions running about in your mind but we shall answer them once we get inside the elevator where my teleporter disk entered from." The professor then started walking towards the other end of the room while the floating disk followed him. The doors opened once again, revealing a room with two benches on each side. Horakthy entered and chose to stand at the center, waiting for the new heroes to get inside as well.

Rainer looked at the floating disk, then the man as he spoke. Rainer wanted to know what was going on. What was this madness that she had seen? Was it some nightmare she was having? She thought to herself, looking back at the ground. That was too real to be fake. That wind, that monster, the volcano, the.....blood..... I'll ask questions when Professor Scottensteiner allows us to.

Rainer stood up and placed her hands in her pockets. She walked towards the Professor, each step she took you could hear the small clacking sound her sandals made when they hit the floor. She entered the room that the professor stood at the center of and walked over to a bench to sit down. Keeping her hands in her pocket she sat down and let out a sigh. Her face was expressionless while she stared at the ground. Her mood was not as cheerful as you'd think, making the directly around her slightly depressing.

Damien followed the professor and the young woman that was training alongside himself and Xander, his boots softly squeaking as they made contact with the floor. The room that stood before them was bleach white like the hallway that lead to it, but there was a pair of benches facing in front of one another, the girl taking a seat on one of the benches. Damien could tell that she still couldn't make sense of what was inside the portal for her, but he could tell she was depressed, due to her head being lowered toward the ground. Damien took a seat next to her and wrapped his arms around her torso, trying to comfort her and possibly become friends with her.

"I know that whatever you saw must have been hard for you to see. But as the professor just said, there is still hope for us to prevent it. We wouldn't be here right now if Lord Mason knew that we were incapable of saving our worlds. My name is Damien, if you didn't hear it earlier." Damien smiled, looking into her eyes with his white pupils looking at hers.

Xander's head cocked slightly to the side as a few odd events played out before him. Not completely new to this sort of technology, he had never seen anything like this in actual practice before. A man seemed to have just appeared from nothing in mere moments. He took a few cautious steps, following behind the two younger ones. He pulled his cape delicately around himself and put his head down, his gaze transfixed on the ground.

His mind was still reeling from everything that had happened so far, so he found himself unable to try and poke around this new homely looking man's mind. In fact, he barely even wanted to in the first place. Xander found that odd. The others went to sit on one bench, but Xander fluidly slid to the other and plopped himself down. His elbows touched his knees and his fingers interlocked as he pressed his lips and nose to them. He kept a steady gaze on the professor with the funny name. Something about it sounded exceptionally familiar. Almost as if he had heard of it before.

Xander waited, wondering how much further down the rabbit hole they would be taken.

Rainer looked at the boys strangely empty white eyes. She let out a brief sigh and took hold of the boys arm before unraveling it from her torso and putting back to his sigh. "Whatever....I'm Rainer..." Rainer mumbled, least bothered with making conversation with anyone yet.

She looked back at the ground. It was too much for a girl her age to take. Rainer had no one in the world for her, no one but the friends she had back home. Her father was no where to be found, and Rainer was glad that was the fact since he seemed heartless leaving her and her mother. Rainer's mother wasn't even in the world, something she still hated knowing. She could make friends with the people she had met just then, that oddly white eyes boy and the man that talked without "talking" and the professors, but they would never be enough at the moment.

Gripping her locket that hung around her neck, Rainer kept looking down and vowed that she would do whatever she could to stop her dimension from being destroyed.

With the last of them stepping inside the room, the doors isolating Paradigm were sealed once more. As they came a closing, a millennium's build up of dust came sweeping inside. When the dust cloud came close to the group though, wind came out of the flying disk which dispelled the dust and even gave the small area a fresh, minty sensation. Horakthy's teleporter then projected a light on all four sides of the room. The first one showed a grassland with a pink hued sky with a throne made out of rock and treelife at the center. The second one focused on a castle found underwater made entirely out of coral. The third one featured a rather small one-room house but ores of different colors encircled it in a cone like formation. The fourth, however, stayed blank.

"Now, as you see before you, Paradigm isn't an uncomfortable asylum where you toil away at perfecting your craft. On the contrary, we here try our best to provide you with the best accommodations that best suit you. When you were all still asleep, Phoenix and the other summoner saw the world through your eyes as remembered by your mind. Speaking of which, I think it's time to introduce all of to that other summoner. In fact, she is the very soul of Paradigm. Or at least, what's left of her. The green energy are fragments of Isis, the keeper of universes. She will protect all of you, even after you leave Paradigm Academy."

As Horakthy talked about Isis, streams of her aura filled the room once again. This time, her energy slowly melded with the blank wall, forming a portal once again. "You see, she is the teacher as well as the enabler of the dimension jump we have so fondly called the Paradigm Shift. We instructors have mastered our own way of dimension jumping. However, you three have not. These other dimensions we have provided for you cannot be accessed unless you jump to it. For now, you will learn all about the paradigm shift in this scenario dimension in front of you."

The white portal then showed images of temples surrounded by vast expanse of jungle. Armies of walking undead soldiers patrol the ground while dark scaled wyverns patrol the skies. At the center of it all, a large fortress keep fashioned with bone and emerald towered over everything else.

"Now, the Paradigm Shift is really simple to master. In fact, I cannot exactly explain it because of it's simplicity. Isis will reveal the secrets of its mechanics once you prove to her that you can be heroes!.. That's all there is to it, really. Now, before you begin this rather dangerous task, is there anything else you'd like to ask?"

Damien could already tell that his conversation with Rainer wasn't going to go much farther, considering she pretty much told him to back off and leave her alone. His smile quickly faded as he scooted away from her, knowing it would be best to leave her alone for a while. As Xander took a seat across from the two of them, the professor, Professor Horakthy, began talking, informing them of their stay at Paradigm Academy.

A series of images appeared on the walls around all of them, a picture of a grassland with a pink sky, along with a throne of stone and tree life at the center, a second one featuring a picture of a coral castle underwater, while the third was of a one-room house with materials of different colors circling it, the last one remaining the bleach white all of them were before. Meanwhile, Professor Horakthy began speaking of Isis, one of the "summoners" at Paradigm Academy that was actually the green energy that emitted from the professor's floating disc. He closed the conference by mentioning s simple, easy-to-master technique called the Paradigm Shift, which the professor didn't explain and instead asked if anyone had questions to ask.

"Excuse me, Professor, but are our worlds the only ones in danger of this... Armageddon? And are we truly the only ones that can possibly save our worlds? There are so few of us here, but there has to be other places in danger, right? Then why us? Why were we chosen?" Damien bluntly asked the professor, looking up into his eyes.

Xander's mind continued to spin as he processed all of this new information told to him. His calm exterior betrayed the torment and panic going on within him. Mixed with that was something else. Excitement. Xander's fists clenched. A grin spread across his face. He felt his cape beginning to ruffle a bit as an unexpected gust of wind crept up his body from his shoes to the top of his head. His eyes remained transfixed on the man before him.

'My only question,' Xander spoke into the minds of all present, 'is when do we start?'

His grin was impossible to hide. He was excited to finally find something that may resemble a purpose in his life. Preventing Armageddon? That didn't matter very much, really. If it was destiny, so be it. As if the gale he could create could stand against the typhoon of fate. However, the power to be gained here in the Academy could help him reveal what he is supposed to do in this lonely, desolate gathering of dimensions. Something that he knew he could be very good at. The anticipation was killing him.

Rainer looked at the pictures and listened to the man. She soaked in the information like a fresh sponge. The green light from before was "summoner", they all had a room, and the academy was made to accommodate everyone the best they could. There was also a thing such a Paradigm Set that the professor didn't really explain too well at that moment. Rainer didn't bother with the scenery much, she knew that they would never be able to beat the serenity and beauty of the beaches back home.

Soon the man asked them if they had any questions they wanted answering. Rainer only had one question at the moment, a question that would give her an idea on how long she had to save her world. Rainer was still holding onto her locket, not planning to move her hand anytime soon. She looked at her locket, then up to the man.

"Is Armageddon happening right now, in our worlds? Or does something happen and we get a certain amount to time to train and go back to save everyone?" She asked, looking back down, not wanted to meet anyone's eyes, fearing that they may see the fear of a timid young girl that Rainer was feeling.

Before the professor could even begin to open his mouth, a sudden gust of wind began to pickup inside the room towards the white portal. On the other side, a raging battle on a grassland field between a horde of armored skeletons with a set decayed bone weaponry and a band of knights, with the latter side losing quite badly. The image then shifted to the skies, revealing a large, gray-scaled dragon with six wings and green eyes starting up the gust.

"Well, looks like Damien's and Rainer's questions will have to wait. As for Xander's, I guess it's safe to say it didn't start soon enough."

After saying those words, the flying disk beamed the professor out the room along with itself. The wind grew stronger and stronger, which would eventually suck all three of them inside the portal. As they would travel through the portal though, they would hear a message.

"What do you value the most; treasure or throne? Or perhaps, something else."

The group would land in the adjacent hillside which overlooked the battle. One by one, the undead claimed the metal-clad soldiers and bolstered their own ranks. As the humans dwindled rapidly in numbers, one of them stood out. Clutched in one his hands was a longsword and with one swing towards the ground, it emitted a powerful shockwave that stopped all of the advancing skeletons dead in their tracks. He then took off his helmet and revealed his long, flowing blond hair. As he took his weapon out of the soil, he let out a declaration.

"I am the Lionheart! All of you minions of the Skeleton King shall fall before my blade!"

As those words traveled to the ears of everyone around the field, a brief moment of silence befell upon the two armies. This silence would only be broken by the demonic beast hovering above them with its mighty roar. Though it might have been deafening, the man named Lionheart stood fast against it. This time, he readied his sword once again.

"Well, this doesn't look good."
said a familiar voice from a distance. Standing behind the group was a man with a metal helmet covering all of his head and a lightweight armor of interwoven chains. However, he also held with him a staff. And on this staff was a crystal which had a clear gleam that could not be matched by anything else.

Xander watched over the battlefield, wondering which side he should be pulling for. A charismatic man commanded the attention of the scene. Xander's lip curled into a smug smirk. His decision was made. A voice from behind him forced him to turn around and see the armor clad man carrying a staff. Xander approached him, speaking into his mind per the norm,

'Are we to give aid to the Lionheart? How can we stand up to that undead army? We need weapons and armor.'
