Anyway, thoughts or comments on the new system?

The slim is very much superior to the original console. I believe they also have an internal gauge that will shut your xbox down before it would usually RRoD.

Oh god. My friend was able to help me get the Slim model. it's beautiful and has built in wi-fi. I went through three original xboxes and so I'm really careful about watching how hot it gets, but I was able to log some serious hours on the slim and nothing bad happened with the heat. It seems to vent it much better than before, and it's really really quiet compared to the original.

Seriously? That's great news. I knew the sound of older models was pretty.. crazy. So I'm glad to hear that. Nice to know that they put in an internal gauge as well. That should be pretty helpful for me. I tend to play at least 14 hours straight with games if I get a new one. So it's good to know I'd be able to do so with the Slim.

I wouldn't advise going too many long sessions back to back but if you have good venting and stuff (the vent's on the top, so it's so much easier than the vents being at the back of the console) then it should be pretty good. Also a positive about the slim is that the power brick for it is so much smaller than the original console's. Original console's was literally the size of a brick. This one is very small and much easier to manage. Since I know you wanna make the jump to a 360 for at LEAST Halo: Reach, then you should definitely without a single doubt in my mind go for the Slim.
I mean you can go with the new arcades that will have a 4 Gig Hard drive and it'll be much cheaper, but eventually you'll want/need to upgrade your harddrive. That's where I was after my original harddrive. I went from a 20 gig box bought in 07 to a 250 gig one <3 much nicer.

Whats the point of saying the same thing twice? The slim has not only everything that the 250 gig Elite has but it has many more features.

Sorry to bring back a dead topic but I need some help. I've been thinking of getting a slim xbox360 4GB but I've read a few bad things. Like I won't be able to play online also games run slow online and off, is this true? Also if I get a bigger HDD will that make games run faster?

I never heard of games running slow though. That's a new one for me.
